Chuck Lincoln is a 5-time Golden Glove champion and a contributor to the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame. http://www.cuberboxingzone.com/news/archives/00001279.htm His professional boxing career spanned 10 years. After serving in the Korean War, Chuck was a coach and mentor in North and Northeast Portland Community centers and Boxing Clubs. He was the cornerstone of the Knott Street Boxing Club's success from 1959 to 1972. During that time, Knott Street was the only amateur boxing team in U.S. history to have three National Champions on the same team at the same time. The Club was one of the most successful in the nation. Coach Chuck Lincoln was Ray Lampkin's coach when Ray was fighting Roberto Duran for the WBA Lightweight title 1975 in Panama City, Panama. Today when asked Mr. Lincoln what is he most proud of about his career, “he says working with the kids…the a few minutes later he chuckles and says Ray Lampkin almost got me the world championship.
